Wedgwood House For Sale

A swell 1950s ranch house in my neighborhood just came on the market. This house has all the mid-century details to excite the modernist geek in all of us - a center door knob with brass escutcheon at the entry, a Hall Mack rotating toothbrush holder in the peach-tiled bathroom, clerestory windows. And there's ribbon striped mahogany everywhere! The original (and unpainted!) mahogany on the walls in the living area is in great condition. The kitchen cabinets and all of the doors throughout the house are also mahogany. Did I mention is has a bomb shelter?

According to the listing on, this 2,022 square foot ranch house was built in 1957 and has 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a bonus office, and 2 car garage. The current owners have lived in the home for decades and they have obviously taken good care of the house. The photos on the website really don't do it justice. You just have to see it in person.  It wouldn't take much to make this an atomic ranch dream house.

HI. Would you know where to buy fiberglass parchment like you used in your lampshade repair. I've found moonshineshades I was hoping to find somewhere cheaper than $40/yard.
