Heavy Metal

When I posted my flea market finds yesterday, I didn't mention that the waffle iron is missing its electrical cord. This would normally make the waffle iron useless, but we have a special gadget in our kitchen.
It's an appliance center made by Westinghouse in the mid-1950s. It's built in to a brick wall next to our wall oven. It has a kitchen timer (which no longer works), 2 electrical outlets and 3 retractable electric cord in various sizes to fit different appliances.
The little door opens up to show the retractable cords. One of the cords was the right size for our new waffle iron. We're ready to eat some waffles!

Oh dang that's nice!

How great it must be to bring such a fine piece home and have a built in (original) "adapter" all ready to go.
